I needed a hat I could just ball up and throw in a pack and go and this is perfect. At first I wasn't keen on the color choice - olive with a black band - but in reality it looks nice. This is a thick cotton, sufficient brim for sun protection, a tad roomier than most other M-sized hats I've tried but I appreciate that feature. I researched on-line many hats of varying prices from $10-$100 and nothing had all the features I was looking for. This hat is worth every penny of the $16 price. The freyed edges on the brim add a subtle unique character from other run of the mill hats (Note that hat is slightly floopy so if you want a sturdy, starched brim effect, choose another style.)
